Cass took her hand back politely, impassively watching as he destroyed the plate of food in front of him. She didn't think it was possible for a human being to eat so much, so quickly, but here she was, being proved wrong. Although, technically, he was on his way to God-hood, so it could just be something to do with his divine constitution. "My dad... is a prick," she reiterated. "I have a half-sister who he seems to spend half his life with. It feels kinda shitty to know that he favours one kid over another." She took another sip of the sludge. "Anyway... you got any idea why we're here?"

"As a group or individually?" He grabbed a fist full of napkins and cleaned his face and hands pushing the plate of scraps aside and looking at her half-finished pie with a calculating expression. The waitress put another glass of water on the table and blinked at the empty plate. "Another. Quicker." He took the glass and half drained that one as well.

When she was gone he looked back at Cass. "Together, either exactly what they said we are doing or exactly nothing. Individually... well, there are probably all sorts of messages inherent in the choices. I'm dad's only heavy. All the others are more talk and sleight of hand than bite." He grinned his pearly whites at her, a predatory smile, at the humor hidden in his own words. "Thor's brat because he likes her for being mostly like him and he's too dumb to send a message."

Looking thoughtfully across the table for a few seconds at Fenris, Cass weighed him up. Rough and ready, looking for all the world like he was all brawn and no brain, she sensed an underlying intelligence that most people would dismiss. Well, at least she THOUGHT she did. She might be wrong. Waiting until Fern had gone, she arced an eyebrow up at him. "Either. Both," she said, shrugging lightly. The message from her dad that she was needed as part of the "security detail" for whatever the hell was going on at the Wynn had been vague, to say the least. "Looking at the others, I don't think we've all been chosen for the same reason. This security thing has to be a load of horseshit." She held out her hands as though to say "look at me". "I'm not exactly 'security' material."

Well, not on the face of it, anyway. Tucked away under her jacket in a concealed holster was her standard FBI-issue Glock, and, tucked inside her coat was her dwarven spatha. She thought she had better come prepared. "You really don't have a lot of good to say about the others we have to work with, do you," she laughed, shaking her head. "Gotta say, though... Horus's son needs to keep his hands to himself." The almost-broken wrist she had given him when he had grabbed her ass ought to be a reminder of that.

"No, lot of messages. I ain't good at putting things like that into words, but I can feel 'em. Floating in the air like your perfume... just not as interesting. It's aimed at the other gods anyway, or some enemy we ain't aware of yet." When she indicated herself as an example he happily drank her form in with his eyes, appreciating her for the healthy example of womanhood she was. He'd never been one for twigs anyway, those were prey not mates. "Maybe you're meant for something else." The statement was just a little teasing but it admitted she was more than met his eyes at the same time. It was the hint of an offer that didn't take any other options off the table either. He was innately cunning like that.

"Besides, the gun you've got under the coat should make up for a lot of what I have to get within arm's reach to do." He turned to regard Horus' boy and shrugged, answering her not-question. "I'm sure they all think I'm a conman... if they've figured out who my da' is. And I'm blunt, apparently. If you want, we can trade on him. You watch my back and I'll snatch his arm off the next time he touches you."

Cass gave Fenris a wry smile as he commented on her perfume, making it clear that she wasn't on the shitlist, like the other Scions seemed to be. "That... sounds interesting," she conceded. "What are your abilities, if you don't mind me asking?" Probably rude to come right out and ask, but if she didn't ask, she'd never find out. A light blush crept onto her porcelain skin as Fenris's eyes travelled leisurely over her body, his follow-up remark making his opinion of her clear as day. "Well, my dad's good with the whole 'unexpected' shit," she replied. "And you're obviously well trained in looking for a concealed weapon if you managed to spot that." The cut of her jacket was designed to conceal the bulge of a weapon, but, at least this time, it wasn't doing a very good job.

"The gun is an advantage sometimes, yes," she agreed, a faint smile on her lips chasing away the blush. "And I think if they'd figured out who your dad is, they'd have run long before now, especially Thor's brat." She laughed as he offered to sort Horus's son for her. "Thanks, but no need," she replied, grinning. "I can take care of myself, but an offer to watch one another's backs is always appreciated." The door opened, and another light scent wafted in... cherry blossoms. An effete young man headed for the table with the other Scions. "Susano-o's son, no doubt," she said lightly. "Wanna lay a bet he tries to screw Horus's boy?"

"Experience from work and the company I keep with Mortals... listen, can I have the rest of the pie?" He gave her a 'how can you resist this face' expression as his desire to eat her pie overwhelmed his patience for a more subtle acquisition. "The gun makes you hold your arm funny, is where I was going with that." Fenris glanced at Thor's kid again and shook his head. "Naw, she came around looking to thump me for her daddy's attention. We know of each other and she went away sad... on second thought you're probably right." He nodded at her counter offer and snorted away the smell of cherry blossoms without looking back. He judged the individual by the look on Cass's pretty face and figured he wasn't far off by her words. "Might make them both more tolerable."

"But enough about them, you asked about me." he grinned at her in obvious good mood at the interest even if he thought it was usually obvious what he did. "I manage the disposition of hostile personnel in a direct and hands on medium."

Tossing Fenris a mock-reproving look, Cass pushed the plate with the pie towards him. "I should have known better than to try to eat at this time of night anyway," she admitted. "I worked a full day before flying out here, and didn't expect to be up this late." In truth, she didn't even know where she would be staying. She would bet it wasn't at the Wynn with her father, though. "Well spotted," she conceded to the gun thing. "Maybe I should start wearing the damn thing somewhere else." While she might be a Special Agent with the FBI, she sure as hell didn't like looking like one. "I guess the rivalry between the father has extended to the children as well," she observed, wondering just how true it held for other gods too...

She didn't know her father well enough to care one way or another who his enemies were. Maybe she should care, but really... he'd need to put in a bit more effort. "I DID ask about you," she agreed, her smile and voice lightly teasing, and she listened to his reply. "That's not actually an answer," she chuckled, vaguely aware of the door of the diner opening again, and a largely bald man, with the exception of a corona of curly white hair, heading to the counter and yelling out an order to Fern. "Me? I kinda specialise in death, water, horses, all the weird kinda shit my dad's good at." She tossed him another challenging smile. "And I seem to have inherited his love of... carousing, for want of a better word."

"Maybe it has, dad has pointed out a few of them to me so I can be on my guard when they come around. Apparently bashing Loki's children is something of a sport among the other Aesir's children. They usually lean toward one of the softer spoken ones though." He glanced at the man that came in through the door and his nostrils flared, but he was pulled back by her statement. "I'm very strong, very fast, and can squeeze a fomor's head off like a grape. I'm real durable too. I fight. And bite off the hand of the occasional liar." He looked her over again, that primal interest returning to his eye as she claimed her father's tendencies... all of them. "I like your powers better than tall blond and vacuous over there." He hooked his thumb at Thorsdotter.

Cass smiled slightly as Fenris explained the burden he bore, just for being Loki's son. There were those who made assumptions about her because of her father, too, and they were usually wrong. "Manannan's kids can have a pretty raw deal too. Most other Scions automatically expect me to put out, just because dad's a bit of a manwhore." She inclined her head towards Aphrodite's daughter, who had now undone a couple of buttons of her top and was now leaning over the table towards the man she had been flirting with. "I usually aim them at that slut."

Nodding as Fenris reeled off the basics of his abilities, Cass shrugged a little. "Sounds a fair set of powers for you," she replied mildly, before a smile slipped into place as he compared her powers to Thor's daughter's. "They're probably more practical these days," she replied modestly. The man with the corona of white hair was glancing around the diner now, his attention drawn to the other Scions. Slowly, he turned to face Cass and Fenris, crooking a finger at them, beckoning them to the other table. Cass raised an eyebrow. "I think we're being summoned."

"They have no sense of accomplishment. What fun would it be if you fell on your back with your legs in the air? That shit's for the Greeks." He nodded in agreement on her call as to whom those unnamed Scions needed to talk to for that sort of thing. As for his powers, "Throws off those looking for a fast talking flim flam artist when they find the son of Loki cracking heads for a living on the behalf of a biker club."

"Yours certainly come in a nicer package. I've never had a taste for over muscled blonds." He glanced at the man crooking his finger and snorted, pulling her plate of pie to himself and returning the gesture... but with his middle finger.
