Real Name: Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin
Code Name: Colossus
Faction: X-Men

Age: 19
Date of Birth: 9-16-1992
Height: 6'8" (7'10" in metal form)
Weight: 250lbs (500lbs in metal form)

Played By: Shawn Roberts

Physical Description: A wholesome looking guy, friendly looking even despite his overbearing size (though he will be quick to note he isn't nearly as big as some other heavy hitters). Black hair, blue eyes, and an excellent physique. When in his metallic form his eyes become silver and he grows even larger.

Personality: Piotr loves his homeland, though he has adjusted as best he can having agreed to come to America. Things tend to weigh heavily on his mind and heart at the same time due to his friendly and caring disposition. Piotr has been, and is likely to be, described as a gentle giant. He cares about his allies deeply, misses his family deeply, and feels deeply for the cause of mutantkind. Though horribly capable of physical violence it just isn't in Piotr's personality to value fighting, and would be loath to ever have to kill an opponent. Whenever possible he likes to keep a light disposition and friendly relations with all those around him. He grew up using his powers to help his neighbors and that tends to remain true of his fellow mutants.

Powers: Colossus can transform his body tissue into an organic, steel-like substance that grants him superhuman strength enabling him to lift/press up to 75 tons and makes him impervious to most injury. His armored form can withstand ballistic penetration as well as temperature extremes from 70º above absolute zero (-390º F) to approximately 9000º F. Colossus cannot become partially or selectively armored; his body is either entirely converted, or not at all. Even his eyes become steel-like. Through an act of will, Colossus can transform virtually instantaneously into his armored state, and can remain in that form for an as yet undetermined amount of time. Once in his armored form, Colossus remains so until he consciously wills himself back to normal. If he is rendered unconscious, however, he spontaneously reverts to his normal form. In his armored state, Colossus retains his normal human mobility, though his endurance and speed are enhanced. He does not need to breathe while transformed, but it is believed that he could not survive for long in a vacuum.

Weaknesses: Despite the strongly defensive nature of his powers there are still notable mutants capable of exceeding his ability to turn away attacks. There are those stronger and tougher in the form of the likes of Juggernaut, and those capable of exceeding his ability to withstand the extremes of temperature such as Iceman and Nova. As noted above he is incapable of selective armoring and if rendered unconscious through massive impact or the like he will immediately revert to his unprotected form. Personally, Piotr has long been pointedly uninterested in putting the vacuum theory to the test. His distaste for violence can and has made him hesitate in putting forth his total ability when assaulting a foe that isn't threatening another being.

Skills: Piotr is skilled at both drawing and painting, though it is a skill he largely keeps as a hobby rather than pursuing. He has been trained in self-defense by the likes of Cyclops and Wolverine, fencing by Nightcrawler, and the finer points of physical training by Beast in their respective times at the school.

Equipment/Weaponry: Being a living weapon and abhorring violence has led to a personal aversion to carrying any type of weapon. Besides, he is plenty strong enough to turn most inanimate objects to the job should such a need arise. That leaves mere clothes and walking around money most of the time.

Known Relatives: Grigory Efimovich Rasputin (great-grandfather, deceased), Elena (great-grandmother, deceased), Ivan Rasputin (great-grand uncle, deceased), Grigory Rasputin (grandfather, deceased), Nikolai Rasputin (father), Alexandra Rasputina (mother), Vladimir Rasputin (uncle), unidentified aunt & uncle, Illyana Nikolievna Rasputin (sister), Mikhail Rasputin (brother), Larissa Mishchenko (cousin), Konstatin (cousin), Klara (cousin), Dimitriy (cousin).

History: Piotr Nikolaievitch Rasputin was born on the Soviet collective farm, called the Ust-Ordynski Collective, near Lake Baikal in Siberia. Growing up on his parents' farm, Piotr Rasputin saw his older brother Mikhail become a Cosmonaut. Mikhail was later discovered to be a latent mutant with energy warping powers, and to keep him secret the government faked his death. In later years, Piotr learned that he too was a mutant, and could transform his flesh into steel, but he was content to use his powers to help his fellow farmers. When a transformed Piotr rescued his sister Illyana from a runaway tractor, he was approached by Professor Charles Xavier, who was recruiting mutants for his school. Dubbed Colossus by Xavier, Piotr reluctantly joined the school and went to America though he found it difficult to adjust to living in a different culture.

The night that everything changed was a night that Piotr barely remembers. Everything horrible that could happen had happened, horror without bounds and an enemy the mighty Colossus simply couldn't lay hands on. In the end Piotr had collected as many of the very young children as he could hold in his long arms, armored up, and protected them in a corner with his own body from the chaotic mutant powers that flashed in the darkness. When morning finally came the Sentinels arrived. Shepherding his collected flock Piotr managed to spot a superior and follow them to safety, then later to the camp.

In the camp Piotr tries hard to keep an eye on the youngest of the New Mutants, having taken his role as their guardian for a night to heart and extending it to his time among them. Though he has college credits Piotr has yet to pull down a degree and often couldn't name one he would want if asked. The vast degree of his knowledge lay within the fields of Agriculture and Animal Husbandry.

Writing Sample: Piotr awoke on his camp cot slowly, his eyes opening just a touch to deal with the light being brighter than he was strictly prepared to face off with just yet. He'd spent a surprising couple of hours in the wee hours of the morning speaking to a young student who had awoken from a tear inducing nightmare filled with the experiences of the shadowy night the mansion had been attacked. He wasn't a trained counselor or anything but Piotr's simple, farm boy approach to the problems he himself faced often managed to simplify issues for others too. Of course, with the young girl in the end all it had taken was armoring up and promising to sit by her until she was good and asleep again. The simple solution was, once again, the best solution.

Which brought him to his current situation, his feet hanging uncomfortably off the end of the cot and his wanting nothing more than to simply go back to sleep. Simple solution? Go back to sleep. Unfortunately, he had classes... Piotr sat bolt upright, his short black hair roughly brushing the tent fabric as it leaned in toward a low ceiling, and checked his clock. He was already late. He rolled out of bed, still wearing the pocketed ready pants that he had pulled on in the middle of the night to escort his young visitor back to her own tent, and stepped into his tactical boots. Pulling the zipper on both up as he stood he grabbed a t-shirt off the top of the pile and his book bag from next to the exit and burst outward. He pulled up and looked around to gather his bearings, a pair of boys across the way grinning at him as if they'd been waiting all along for the show, then started sprinting toward where the class was to be held that day.

He briefly considered armoring up but dismissed the thought out of hand. Piotr could do incredible things in his armored form but it also made him a dangerous ballistic object when he did so. The only thing worse than showing up late would be leaving a trail of destruction in his wake in an attempt to fix something that couldn't be fixed. The big guy dodged through the meandering figures he encountered as he sprinted across the camp, hollering apologies over his shoulder whenever somebody exclaimed in surprise. He burst into the large tent filled with students, a black board, and a single professor who turned slowly to regard Colossus. Piotr looked around at his fellow students, most of which looked amused at the prospect of somebody getting scolded and then back to his professor. His thick, Russian accent colored his words as he attempted a hopeless excuse. "Jet lag?"
